Homework LATE Passes

All students are hereby granted four homework late credits to use as they please over the course of the semester (see details*).  Each homework late pass grants the bearer up to three penalty-free calendar days passed the work’s deadline.  In other words, if the work is due on Monday at 3:30 one homework late pass allows a student to turn in their work on Thursday by 3:30 p.m. without being charged the normal 30% late penalty.

*details

  • Students may not combine late passes, nor use someone else’s late pass.
  • Late passes cannot be used to extend the late work “cutoff deadline” that occurs at the end of each quarter.
  • Students must acknowledge they are using one of their late passes by writing the words HOMEWORK LATE PASS THIS ASSIGNMENT on top of the front page of their work.
  • Work turned in more than three days late with a homework late pass will accrue normal penalties starting on the fourth day.  (For instance work turned in five days late with a homework late pass would be charged a 20% late penalty)
  • Late passes cannot be used to turn in work assigned in the third quarter during the fourth quarter.
  • Late pass credit will be kept on a class roster by the teacher.
  • A diagonal line thru the box on the pass roster indicates a student has used one of their credits.
